Chris Chambers Released

I was right everyone! I was sooooooo right. Chris Chambers' benching on Sunday had nothing to do with injury, he's just not very good. The Chargers released him today, and when looking at the team's receiving depth one can see why. The last guy on the depth chart is Buster Davis, a first round draft pick in his third season who hasn't really gotten a chance to shine.

In the end this move is equal parts Chambers not being able to hold onto the ball and not being tall enough. The Chargers' passing game these days requires tall recievers who can go up for jump balls and catch the deep pass over smaller defensive backs and Chambers - who came over from the Dolphins in a trade in 2007 - just doesn't possess the necessary tools anymore.
